blog #3 (g)

For my photo story, I chose to photograph the statue garden behind Slane Student Center. My roommate, Ashlee, was my model for a few shots. Once I inserted my photos and headline into InDesign I attempted to rearrange the images with their captions in an aesthetic way. The readings and videos from this past week helped me master the layout and formatting of a photostory with specifics to margins and caption text size.

blog #3 (a/v)

For my still image video, I have chosen to do a how-to video about doing laundry. To make this video  less boring and stand out, I asked my friend Nick Santo to be my model. In this video, you will see how Nick does his laundry... or doesn't. This video follows Nick's unpleasant journey as he fails to do his laundry.
While using Premiere for this project I became more comfortable with the software. Now, I am. confident I can use the software without feeling confused or lost. Keeping my work organized in bins and in folders on my Mac proved helpful when exporting multiple different components to make this video. I also realized I definitely did not know how to export a video so that it will upload to youtube. After reviewing the weekly readings and video I now know how to export videos from Premiere as a sequence and then share on youtube!https://youtu.be/hhfI_fnM3io

Blog #2

Cardi B Mashup

For this blog post, I chose an interview between Ellen and rapper Cardi B. Cardi is known for her spunky style so I took my favorite sayings in this interview and created an edited video of my favorite parts. I used Premiere to razor parts of the video to create an entirely new clip. The laws of copyright are still intact considering the rights of fair use. By using smaller clips of the original video to make a completely different final piece, I still am respecting copy right laws.
